Qualifications needed
⢠A passion for the heavy vehicle road transport industry
⢠Reliable and punctual
⢠Great time management
⢠Committed to a 4-year apprenticeship, including practical studies at TAFE
⢠Certificate II in Fabrication, Automotive Manufacturing Technical Operations or
Automotive Industry (advantageous)
⢠Driver’s License and own vehicle to get around or close to obtaining
(advantageous)
Position Description
We have an opportunity for a passionate, enthusiastic and committed individual who wants to start their career in the heavy vehicle industry. If you love working with your hands and take pride in the satisfaction of building something from scratch, then this is the type of body building you need to get into. In your apprenticeship you learn how to shape and construct complex frameworks which are welded, glued and bolted to the chassis of vehicles. Your on-the-job training will expose you to the skills required to fix axles, suspension, brakes, handles, locks, hinges, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
About the role
⢠Fabricate parts, welding, body repairs
⢠Maintain a hydraulic and air suspension/braking systems
⢠Install and repair electrical systems
⢠Operate load shifting equipment
⢠Finish and paint vehicle body part surfaces
